My Corgis are tested for health issues seen in Pembroke Welsh Corgis, and bred accordingly.

Health Testing

• Degenerative Myelopathy (DM) A fatal, chronic, progressive degenerative neurological disease of the spinal cord.
• Von Willebrand's Disease (VWd) A blood clotting disorder.
• Progressive Retinal Atrophy (PRA) An eye disease that leads to complete blindness within 1 to 4 years.
• Exercise Induced Collapse (EIC) A neuromuscular disorder that may cause intolerance to strenuous exercise.
• Pembroke Welsh Corgi Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD) Expressed mainly in male dogs.
• Severe Combined Immunodeficiency Disease (SCID) Expressed mainly in male dogs.

I also DNA test parents for coat, color and traits to help determine possible coat colors of puppies, and whether fluffs or naturally bobbed tails are possible. Hips are x-rayed and examined to determine joint structure and health.

Our Active Lifestyle

We are ACTIVE and spend lots of time with our dogs. They are included in all aspects of our lives. They have horses, cats, chickens, and other canine and people friends. They attend herding and barn hunting training and events, show in conformation and rally, and hike and jog with the family.

Sookie is in training to be a Diabetic Alert Dog. She's a NATURAL and has reminded me several times to check my blood sugar.

I breed only a small number of litters most years. I do not ship puppies. I expect to place our sweet puppies in forever homes and will happily take back any of our puppies/dogs under any circumstances.
